Why I should own a Tesla

I would like to own a car. Buying a Tesla? Of course… But a low-earning technology writer like me cannot do this in Turkey. So, if other car users around the world own a Tesla, what change will they contribute to the world?

As a journalist, I have been following news from the USA for many years, such as ‘Tesla is on the roads’ and ‘Tesla is increasing its sales success’.

It must be admitted: Elon Musk achieved great success by creating Tesla. It took the definition of electric vehicle to a completely different dimension. And in this regard, it has almost rewritten the story of Mercedes’ creation of the definition of luxury vehicle 100 years ago by creating the luxury electric vehicle.

Elon Musk, who is already a modernist in every step, has achieved success at this point.

Finally Tesla came to Turkey.

Since vehicle prices in Turkey have tripled with the special consumption tax, it is not possible for me to buy a Tesla whose raw price is 40 thousand dollars. Because I am a journalist who earns very little. .

But as a technology writer, I think I should own Tesla. I say this without taking into account the financial aspect of buying the car. Yes, I need a Tesla electric car. Because…

I should own a Tesla, because Tesla is not just a car with four wheels and a steering wheel. Tesla is a walking technology base. Technology has now gained the power to make our lives easier, transform us and make us a new person, whether we want it or not.

Our lives are changing radically

While until recently internet use was the activity of a very limited population, today it is possible to use the internet super fast and wirelessly with space investments such as Starlink.

4.5 billion people now have social media accounts.

If everyone took and uploaded just one photo or video a day, we would need the energy produced by dozens of power plants to watch and store it.

On the other hand, we have become unable to live without accessing Twitter, formerly known as Platform X, and other social media platforms, following the agenda, and talking about the agenda.

According to research, people cannot live without looking at their phones 150 times a day.

In Turkey alone, we spend 8 hours a day on the internet.

Shopping, marketing, job interviews, education, sex… Everything is on the internet.

This shows our commitment to technology. Thanks to a device that we will soon attach to our mobile phone, we will be able to learn our blood and urine values and get a heart echo without having to go to the doctor and get tested. Artificial intelligence will make our diagnosis and our medications will be delivered to our home by drone through an application.

And these will happen before 2030.

We have another world

But for these to happen, the world must continue to breathe. In other words, in the 2040s, the use of fossil fuel-based vehicles, that is, diesel and gasoline vehicles, will gradually decrease and they will not be produced at all. They will become memories.

Reducing carbon emissions is a great necessity. There are hundreds of millions of vehicles on the roads. If cars become electric and electricity is obtained from natural sources such as sun, sea and wind, we can save the world.

Electric vehicles are on the roads today. The more electric vehicles are produced, the more clean electricity production will increase, and with this demand, the world will become a cleaner place. Life expectancy will increase accordingly. In this respect, Tesla’s sales success is very important. If Tesla had not been such a successful car, the perception of electric vehicles would have been worse and their spread would not have occurred so quickly. In a way, we can say that Tesla is a SpaceX rocket flying around the world to save the world. It brought us to a completely different world without moving from where we were.

When you read the article, you thought I would tell you about Tesla’s superior features. However, I wanted to talk about the impact of Tesla, the view on electric cars and how technology will change our lives.

If Tesla had not been so successful, the outlook for electric cars would have been poor. Electric vehicles on the roads today would be replaced by diesel and gasoline vehicles, and global warming would increase.
